Profile

Since the age of five, Bharatanatyam has been my heartfelt passion. I began my journey with a decade of training in the Tanjavur bani, and after a significant pause, I resumed under Guru Smt. Vijaya Rao in the Cheyyur Pandanallur bani, culminating in my Arangetram in 2019. Post-Arangetram, I continued to enrich my artistry through advanced training and stage productions of Nateschwara, which deepened my understanding of expression, rhythm, and choreography.

Over the years, I have performed in several cultural events and festivals, including Nartana Priya 2024 and the Margazhi Utsav of SIFAA, presenting works that blend tradition with fresh interpretations. I am continually exploring new ways to convey stories, emotions, and ideas through Bharatanatyam while remaining rooted in its rich traditions.

Rooted by a profound passion for literature, I am deeply interested in exploring how ancient texts can be reimagined through dance. The poetic richness of Sangam literature is particularly close to my heart, and I look forward to collaborating on projects that weave the beauty of Indian literature into the language of Bharatanatyam.

Another part of my journey that I hold close is teaching. Alongside Dr. Sharmila Rao at Sharmila Rao’s Dance School, I have the privilege of sharing this art with the next generation, passing on this timeless art — its beauty and traditions.

Shaped by a career in biomedical research, I find that the dialogue between science and art continually enriches my perspective and inspires my creative approach. Currently, I am pursuing a diploma in Nattuvangam at Aangika Academy under Guru Smt. A. Chitra to enhance my rhythmic skills, and expanding my repertoire through the AntarShaala program with Shri Parshwanath Upadhye.
